There’s an e-mail making the rounds these days filled with pictures that I thought you should take a look at. It’s about a huge buck apparently taken on October 3rd by bowhunter, Ben Spanjers in the southeast part of the state near Hokah, Minnesota. According to the e-mail the big buck weighed in at 310 pounds, sporting 23 points with a “green scored” rack of 231 5/8.” Another blog source corroborates the story so I’m tending to believe most of what is shown here is very likely true. Congrats to Ben on his monster trophy. Apparently this big guy was a local legend obviously eluding hunters for many years.
By the way, hats off to Ben who sports a big smile in each of these pictures. That’s the way it ought to be. One of my biggest pet peeves is looking at a picture of a hunter who cannot display a big smile when they are graced with a once-in-a-lifetime trophy such as this.
